02 — Project

A building already standing, asked to become something else entirely.

RUMEN began as a residential development on Rumen Close. The brief was not to refresh it but to reposition it — to turn a private asset into a hospitality destination, working with a structure that was already built and could not simply be wished away.

We treated it as an adaptive architectural transformation rather than a refurbishment. Spatial reconfiguration, facade expression, interiors, vertical development and the amenities a guest actually uses were resolved together, each one tested against what the existing building would allow.

“The structure was fixed. Everything else was a decision.”
